Over the past few years, we have seen considerable growth in our production machining department. In addition, we've also taken on more jobs that require tighter tolerance control. As a result of the growth, it was becoming difficult to manage our quality control procedures and equipment on the shop floor.
In 2020, we decided to invest in building a dedicated quality lab. Construction was completed in early 2021, and was put to use immediately.
Our dedicated quality lab features high-end quality control equipment including a Hexagon 4.5.4 SF CMM, Starrett Precision Optical HE400, and other gauges and measuring devices.
The CMM allows us to perform first article testing for companies who do not have this capability. In addition, we use the CMM daily to verify production parts meet customer specifications.
